What a great variation on the classic design!  A leather corner sofa bed takes the beautiful appearance and comfort of a leather corner sofa, and adds on an additional design feature—a fold-out bed.

While it would certainly be possible to stretch out and sleep on a larger sofa, it isn't the most comfortable way to spend the night.  So, if you have guests stay over frequently or for long periods of time, or if you have a smaller room that can't accommodate a large corner sofa, then a corner sofa bed is a perfect option!

The "bed" part of the leather corner sofa bed fits nicely in the corner of the sofa, allowing for a fairly large bed to be created from a piece of furniture that normally doesn't take up a lot of space.

Choosing the Right Type of Corner Sofa Bed

As with regular corner sofas, corner sofa beds come in a wide variety of colors, designs, and materials.

Leather is becoming more and more popular as a material.  Of course, any leather furniture is going to cost a bit more.  In addition, leather corner sofa beds will generally be more expensive than regular leather corner sofas.  You can still find some great deals on them, though.

So, for the extra price, is it worth it go to with leather?  That's a decision that only you can make, depending on what you are looking for, and what your budget is.  But keep in mind that leather is more stain-resistant than cloth, and if you take care of it properly, it will look and feel better for longer.

Leather is relatively easy to clean, and holds up well.  And in the event that you do get a major stain on it, you can buy cleaning kits directly from the manufacturers that will do a great job of removing tough stains.  These kits are a bit pricey, but are well worth it to keep your piece of furniture looking beautiful.

It's more money now, but the investment in a good quality piece of leather furniture is something that may save you money in the long run.

If you are specifically looking for a sofa bed, then your options for designs are a bit more limited, although there are still plenty of choices out there.  Sofa beds don't tend to work with the sparse, slim, chic style corner sofas.  There's simply nowhere to place the folded-up bed.  Also, curved corner designs don't work well as fold-out beds.

So, keep in mind the style of furniture that you want in your room.  Fold-out beds can be found in a wide variety of styles, but not in every style.

Another great feature is the option to have some storage space.  Many corner sofa beds have room under the shorter side to store pillows, blankets, sheets, and anything else you need to quickly convert your sofa into a comfortable sleeping area.  You may pay a bit more for sofas with this feature, though.

Shopping for Your Corner Sofa Bed

Whether you decide to buy your corner sofa bed from a store or from an online retailer, there are a lot of things to consider.

First, make sure that you know the measurements of the space where you want to put the furniture.  You should consider not only the measurement of the normal sofa, but also the size of the bed when it is folded out.  Will you have enough space in your room for the bed?  If you will have to spend a lot of time shuffling other furniture around to clear out space, it could make your "simple" sofa bed set-up a lot more time-consuming and complicated.

It's always a good idea to actually sit on the sofa you are thinking about buying.  Different people have different preferences.  No matter how much a reviewer might rave about the comfort of a particular sofa, you should always try it out yourself.  If you plan to buy online, you can still try out different types at a store before you make the final online purchase.  Even if you can't find the exact sofa you are looking at, you can at least get a feel for the types of features that you prefer.

If possible, you should try out the bed, too.  A fold-out bed won't be as comfortable as a normal bed, but make sure that it's not uncomfortable, too short, or too narrow.

If you decide to go with leather, then you'll naturally be looking around for the best deal.  You can often find some great leather corner sofas on sale, but be careful.  If you are not buying from a well known store or manufacturer, you could find yourself buying something that is advertised as all leather, but is actually part fake leather, or only coated in a thin layer of leather.  That cheap leather corner sofa bed isn't a good deal at all if it is poorly made or falsely advertised.  Make sure you know what you're getting, and take the time to make sure you get your money's worth!
